Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement.
  2. Remove the PCV hose. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement.

Camshaft Cover Fastener (Qty: 3)

Caution:

Refer to Fastener Caution.

Note:

Apply pipe sealant to the center bolt during reinstallation. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers.

Tighten

Camshaft Cover Gasket

Procedure

Do not reuse the camshaft gasket. Also use a new gasket when removing or replacing camshaft cover.

  1. Remove or reposition the clips as necessary.
  2. Disconnect electrical connector as necessary.
  3. Transfer components as necessary.
