Chevrolet Sonic Repair Manual: Tire Dismounting and Mounting (Lubricant)
- Lubricant should be applied to form a thin, just visible layer, on the bead foot and bead outer areas. There should not be any visible clumps of lubricant.
- Never use soap or any lubricant net specifically designed for tire assembly.
- Lubricant is used to achieve accurate seating between the tire bead and the seat on the rim.
- Apply tire lubricant, refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers to both tire and wheel beads for full circumference.
- Immediately assemble tire to wheel and inflate.
- If assembly is not completed within five (5) minutes of being lubricated, both the tire and wheel must be re - lubricated for proper assembly and inflation.

Place a drip pan underneath.
Remove the oil filter cap (1).
Remove the oil filter cap seal (2).
Remove and properly dispose of the oil filter insert (3).
