Basic information
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Confirm that the Nissan Armada is in the P (Park) position.
The Intelligent Key must be inside the Nissan Armada when operating the ignition system.
3. Press the ignition switch to the ON position. Then depress the brake pedal and press the ignition switch again to start the engine.
NOTE:
Under certain conditions, the brake pedal travel may feel longer than usual. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction in your Nissan Armada.
To start the engine immediately, press and release the ignition switch while holding the brake pedal, regardless of the current ignition position.
CAUTION
Do not operate the starter motor of your Nissan Armada for more than 30 seconds continuously. If the engine fails to start, turn the ignition OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before attempting again to avoid starter damage.
4. Warm-up
After starting, allow the Nissan Armada engine to idle for at least 30 seconds. Avoid revving the engine during warm-up. Begin driving gently at moderate speed, especially in cold weather conditions.
In colder climates, it is recommended to let the Nissan Armada engine run for 2–3 minutes before shutting it off. Frequent short start-stop cycles may make the engine harder to start over time.
When the engine is running without load, the Nissan Armada automatically limits engine speed to approximately 3,000 rpm to protect internal components.
5. To stop the engine, press the shift button to select P (Park), then press the ignition switch to turn it OFF.
NOTE:
To prevent battery discharge and potential starting issues in your Nissan Armada, avoid the following situations:
1. Prolonged use of electronic accessories (such as phone chargers, GPS units, or media devices) while the engine is not running.
2. Infrequent driving or only short-distance trips, which may not allow the battery to fully recharge.
In such cases, periodic battery charging may be necessary to maintain optimal performance.
Remote engine start
When starting your Nissan Armada remotely, the ignition must be switched to the ON position before shifting out of P (Park). Follow these steps:
1. Ensure the Intelligent Key is inside the Nissan Armada.
2. Depress the brake pedal.
3. Press the ignition switch once to switch to the ON position.
The Nissan Armada ignition system is designed for convenience, reliability, and safety, ensuring smooth engine start and operation under various conditions. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
