Nissan Armada 2025-2026 Owner's Manual: Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Basic information

For optimal safety and performance of your Nissan Armada, each tire—including the spare tire (if equipped)—should be inspected at least once a month when cold and inflated according to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure values listed on the vehicle placard or tire pressure label. If your Nissan Armada is fitted with tires that differ in size from those specified, it is essential to determine and maintain the correct inflation pressure for those specific tires.

The Nissan Armada is equipped with an advanced Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which continuously monitors tire pressure and alerts the driver when one or more tires become significantly under-inflated. When the low tire pressure warning indicator illuminates, you should safely stop your Nissan Armada as soon as possible and check all tires. Driving with under-inflated tires can lead to overheating, increased wear, reduced fuel efficiency, compromised handling, and in extreme cases, tire failure.

It is important to understand that the Nissan Armada TPMS is designed as an additional safety feature and does not replace regular tire maintenance. The driver remains responsible for ensuring that all tires are properly inflated, even if the system has not yet triggered a warning.

The Nissan Armada is also equipped with a TPMS malfunction indicator that alerts you if the system itself is not functioning correctly. This indicator shares the same warning light as the low tire pressure alert.

If a malfunction is detected, the warning light will flash for approximately one minute and then remain steadily illuminated. This sequence will repeat each time the Nissan Armada is started until the issue is resolved. During a malfunction, the system may not accurately detect or warn of low tire pressure. Such issues may arise from factors such as installing incompatible tires or wheels that interfere with TPMS operation.

After replacing tires or wheels on your Nissan Armada, always verify that the TPMS warning light operates correctly to ensure continued system functionality.

Additional information

Maintaining proper tire pressure in your Nissan Armada not only improves safety but also enhances fuel efficiency, prolongs tire life, and ensures optimal driving stability under all conditions.

Do not reduce tire pressure immediately after driving your Nissan Armada, as tire pressure naturally increases due to heat generated during operation. Conversely, low ambient temperatures can reduce the air pressure inside the tires, potentially causing the tire pressure to drop below recommended levels.

This drop in pressure may trigger the low tire pressure warning light in your Nissan Armada. If the warning appears during cold weather conditions, carefully check the tire pressure in all four tires and adjust them as needed.

Changes in outside temperature may also cause the low tire pressure warning light to illuminate even if the pressure was previously set correctly. For accurate readings, always adjust tire pressure when the tires are cold, following the recommended specifications for your Nissan Armada.

You can conveniently monitor the tire pressure of all tires (except the spare) using the Nissan Armada vehicle information display, allowing for quick and efficient checks.

WARNING

CAUTION

Certain electronic devices and radio transmitters may temporarily interfere with the TPMS operation in your Nissan Armada, potentially causing the low tire pressure warning light to activate. Examples include:

Understanding these conditions will help Nissan Armada drivers maintain accurate tire monitoring, avoid false warnings, and ensure maximum safety and performance during everyday driving.

The low tire pressure warning light in your Nissan Armada may illuminate under several specific conditions, even if there is no immediate tire failure. Understanding these scenarios will help you properly diagnose and maintain the Nissan Armada TPMS system.

TPMS with Easy Fill Tire Alert

The Nissan Armada TPMS with Easy Fill Tire Alert is designed to simplify tire inflation by providing clear visual and audible signals outside the vehicle. This feature helps drivers inflate tires accurately to the recommended COLD tire pressure without constantly checking a gauge.

Vehicle set-up:

1. Park your Nissan Armada on a flat, stable surface in a safe location.

2. Engage the parking brake and shift the transmission into the P (Park) position.

3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position without starting the engine.

Operation:

1. Begin adding air to the tire of your Nissan Armada.

2. After a few seconds, the hazard lights will begin flashing, indicating that the system is actively monitoring tire pressure.

3. Once the correct pressure is reached, the horn will sound once and the hazard lights will stop flashing, confirming proper inflation.

4. Repeat this process for each tire on your Nissan Armada.

If the Easy Fill Tire Alert system in your Nissan Armada does not function as expected, always use a reliable tire pressure gauge to ensure accurate inflation.

The Nissan Armada TPMS system is designed to enhance safety, improve tire longevity, and provide a more convenient maintenance experience for drivers.
