Nissan Armada 2025-2026 Owner's Manual: Types of tires

Basic information

WARNING

All season tires

NISSAN equips certain Nissan Armada models with all season tires designed to deliver balanced performance throughout the year, including moderate winter conditions such as light snow and ice.

These tires are typically marked with "ALL SEASON" and/or "M&S" (Mud and Snow) on the sidewall. While they provide versatile usability, dedicated snow tires generally offer superior traction in severe winter conditions.

Summer tires

Some Nissan Armada configurations may come with summer tires, engineered for optimal grip, handling precision, and braking performance on dry and warm road surfaces.

However, their performance significantly decreases in cold, snowy, or icy environments. Unlike all season or winter tires, summer tires do not carry the M&S marking on the sidewall.

If you intend to operate your Nissan Armada in winter conditions, it is strongly recommended to switch to SNOW tires or ALL SEASON tires on all four wheels for improved safety and control.

Snow tires

When driving your Nissan Armada in regions with heavy snowfall or icy roads, installing snow tires is highly advisable. These tires must match the original equipment in size and load rating to maintain proper vehicle dynamics.

Using incorrect tire sizes or specifications can compromise safety, handling, and braking efficiency.

Snow tires often have lower speed ratings compared to standard tires, so always adhere to their maximum speed limits.

For best performance, all four tires must be identical in brand, size, construction, and tread pattern.

In certain areas, studded snow tires may be permitted to enhance traction on icy surfaces. However, local laws may restrict their use, so always verify regulations before installation.

Keep in mind that while studded tires improve grip on ice, their performance on dry or wet roads may be inferior to non-studded winter tires.

Tire chains

WARNING

If tire chains are used on your Nissan Armada, they must provide adequate clearance between the tire and nearby suspension or body components.

Improperly sized or incorrectly installed chains can cause serious damage to the braking system, suspension, or body, and may lead to dangerous driving conditions or accidents.

Before installing tire chains, always check local regulations, as their use may be restricted depending on the region.

Ensure that the chains are correctly sized for the tires on your Nissan Armada and installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Only SAE Class S chains should be used, as they are specifically designed for vehicles with limited clearance between the tire and surrounding components.

These chains meet strict clearance standards based on the factory-installed tire size of the Nissan Armada.

Using other types of chains may result in vehicle damage.

When recommended, use chain tensioners to maintain proper chain fitment. Secure or remove any loose chain ends to prevent damage to the vehicle’s fenders or underbody.

Avoid carrying heavy loads while using tire chains, and always drive at reduced speeds to maintain control and prevent mechanical stress.

Install tire chains only on the rear wheels of the Nissan Armada. Never install them on the front wheels.

Additionally, do not use tire chains on a temporary spare tire (except for specific configurations such as conventional 18-inch tire-equipped models).

Operating your Nissan Armada with tire chains on dry pavement is not recommended, as it can lead to excessive wear and potential damage to drivetrain components.

Proper tire selection and maintenance are essential for maximizing the performance, safety, and longevity of your Nissan Armada in all driving conditions.
