Nissan Armada 2025-2026 Owner's Manual: Basic information
The Nissan Armada is equipped with an advanced automatic brake hold function
designed to enhance driving convenience in stop-and-go traffic conditions. This
system automatically maintains braking force when the vehicle comes to a complete
stop, such as at traffic lights or intersections, allowing the driver to release
the brake pedal without the vehicle rolling.
Once the driver presses the accelerator pedal, the Nissan Armada automatically
releases the braking force and resumes normal driving. The current status of the
automatic brake hold function can be clearly monitored via the vehicle information
display.
To activate and properly use the automatic brake hold function in your Nissan
Armada, the following conditions must be satisfied:
- The driver’s seat belt must be securely fastened.
- The electronic parking brake must be fully released.
- The Nissan Armada must not be in the P (Park) position.
- The vehicle should not be stopped on a steep incline.
WARNING
- The automatic brake hold function in the Nissan Armada is not intended
for use on steep slopes or slippery surfaces. Using it under such conditions
may cause the vehicle to move unexpectedly.
- System warnings may appear requesting the driver to regain control by
pressing the brake pedal. Always respond promptly to such alerts.
- If the Nissan Armada automatic brake hold fails to keep the vehicle stationary,
immediately press the brake pedal to maintain control. External factors such
as road conditions may cause unexpected vehicle movement, accompanied by warning
sounds and messages.
- Deactivate the automatic brake hold function when using automated car
wash systems, towing the Nissan Armada, or when the vehicle is heavily loaded.
- The automatic brake hold function will not operate when the Nissan Armada
is in 4L (low-range 4WD) mode. If 4L is engaged while the function is active,
braking force will be released automatically.
- Always shift the Nissan Armada into P (Park) and apply the parking brake
when parking, entering or exiting the vehicle, or loading and unloading cargo.
Failure to do so may result in unintended vehicle movement, potentially
causing serious injury or property damage.
- If any of the following conditions occur, the Nissan Armada automatic
brake hold system may not function properly. Have the system inspected as soon
as possible by an authorized Nissan dealer:
- A warning message appears on the display.
- The indicator light on the automatic brake hold switch does not illuminate
when pressed.
Improper system operation may lead to unexpected vehicle movement and
increased risk of accidents.
- The automatic brake hold function will not activate if warning indicators
such as the slip indicator light, electronic parking brake warning light, or
master warning light are illuminated, or if a Chassis Control System Error message
is displayed in the Nissan Armada.
- While maintaining braking force, you may hear operational sounds from
the Nissan Armada braking system. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
- In some situations, the Nissan Armada may continue holding the vehicle
even when the accelerator pedal is pressed. If this occurs, press the brake
pedal first and then deactivate the automatic brake hold switch to release the
braking force safely.
The Nissan Armada automatic brake hold system improves driver comfort and control,
especially in urban driving conditions, while still requiring attentive and responsible
vehicle operation at all times.
To enable the automatic brake hold feature in your Nissan Armada, ensure the
ignition switch is in the ON position, then press the automatic brake hold switch
