WARNING
A Nissan Armada equipped with Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) must never be tested on a two-wheel dynamometer or similar equipment used in some emissions testing facilities.
Always inform inspection personnel that your Nissan Armada is a 4WD vehicle before testing begins.
Using incorrect testing equipment may result in severe transmission damage, unexpected vehicle movement, or serious personal injury.
Due to regulatory requirements in certain states and Canadian provinces, your Nissan Armada may need to meet specific "ready condition" criteria before undergoing an Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) emissions test.
A vehicle is considered "ready" when it has completed a series of driving cycles that allow the onboard emissions monitoring systems to perform self-checks.
In most cases, normal day-to-day driving of your Nissan Armada will automatically bring the vehicle into a "ready condition."
However, if a powertrain-related component has been repaired or if the battery has been disconnected, the system may reset to a "not ready" state.
Before scheduling an emissions test, verify the readiness status of your Nissan Armada:
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position without starting the engine.
If the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) remains illuminated for approximately 20 seconds and then begins blinking for 10 seconds, the system is "not ready."
If the MIL remains steady and does not blink after 20 seconds, the vehicle is in a "ready" condition and prepared for testing.
For best results and to ensure compliance, it is recommended to have your Nissan Armada inspected or prepared by an authorized NISSAN dealer prior to undergoing the I/M test.
