Chevrolet Sonic Repair Manual: Synchronizers Disassemble

1st/2nd Gear Synchronizer

    Note:

    When servicing the synchronizers, retain them in the same order that they are removed. Keep the synchronizer components together and mark them to identify correct location.

  1. Remove the 1st/2nd gear synchronizer hub (2) from the 1st/2nd gear synchronizer sleeve (3).
  2. Remove the synchronizer inserts (1) from the 1st/2nd gear synchronizer hub (2).
3rd/4th Gear Synchronizer

    Remove the 3rd/4th gear synchronizer hub (2) from
  1. Remove the 3rd/4th gear synchronizer hub (2) from the 3rd/4th gear synchronizer sleeve (3).
  2. Remove the synchronizer inserts (1) from the 3rd/4th gear synchronizer hub (2).
