Detection zone
Basic information
The Nissan Armada Trailer Blind Spot Warning (BSW) function is specifically designed to enhance safety while towing by extending the detection area to include the full length of the attached trailer. In this configuration, the monitoring zone begins at the side mirrors of the Nissan Armada and stretches all the way to the rear end of the trailer, while also covering approximately 10 ft (3.0 m) on each side.
This extended detection capability allows the Nissan Armada to provide more accurate alerts when towing, ensuring improved awareness of surrounding vehicles even when a trailer significantly increases the vehicle’s overall length.
Setting the trailer length
Before activating the Trailer BSW function in the Nissan Armada, it is essential to manually input the exact trailer length. This setting is configured through the vehicle information display.
WARNING
The Nissan Armada cannot automatically determine the trailer dimensions. The driver must manually enter the correct trailer length.
If the trailer length is entered incorrectly, the Blind Spot Warning system in the Nissan Armada may provide inaccurate alerts or fail to function properly, potentially increasing the risk of unsafe driving situations.
NOTE:
Trailer BSW system limitations
WARNING
The following limitations apply to the Nissan Armada Trailer Blind Spot Warning system. Failure to consider these conditions may result in reduced system performance, increasing the risk of accidents, injury, or death.
The Nissan Armada Trailer BSW function significantly improves driver awareness when towing, but it should always be used as a support system alongside careful observation and safe driving practices. Proper setup and understanding of its limitations are essential for achieving maximum safety while operating the Nissan Armada with a trailer.
