Exhaust Manifold with Catalytic Converter Replacement

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield. Refer to Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Replacement.
  2. Remove the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement.

Exhaust Manifold to Cylinder Head Nut (Qty: 9)

Caution:

Refer to Fastener Caution.

Tighten


15 Y (11 lb ft)

Exhaust Manifold Gasket

Exhaust Manifold Brace Bolt (Qty: 4)

Tighten


20 Y (15 lb ft)

Exhaust Manifold with Catalytic Converter

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the temperature sensor and transfer parts if replacing the exhaust manifold with catalytic converter.
  2. Clean the sealing surfaces.
  3. Replace the exhaust gasket with a NEW gasket.
  4. Replace the exhaust manifold nuts with NEW nuts.
