GM Recommended Tire Balancer

Hunter RF33 Road Force balancer or equivalent with the following options:

  • Auto Clamp – allows for centering repeatability and prevent damage to the wheel.
  • Wheel Lift – helps prevent wheel damage and assists in the accuracy of the placement to the collet.
  • Laser System for Weight Placement – for highly accurate weight placement and to verify the morning calibration procedure.
  • Integrated Printer – to document the RFV results and VIN for each tire and wheel assembly.
  • 20-2472-1 GM Collet and Flange Plate Kit – 11 degree short collets offer better centering and reduce protrusion into chrome-clad wheels, which interferes with proper seating. Flange plates further protect the wheel by placing the mounting pressure at the tapered lug holes.
  • Specific Software – co-developed with GM.

    Note:

This equipment is recommended to increase repeatability and reduce variation of the assembled product.

Equipment Maintenance
  • Spindle shaft and hub face should be cleaned at regular intervals.
  • Do not lube the hub face.
  • Mounting cones, collets and other mounting devices, should be cleaned, lubed and inspected for burs.

    Note:

    Machine must be calibrated regularly.

Wheel Weight Cutter

3M wheel weights are made of a unique, flexible and conformable material. Precision cut length weights improve wheel balance and vehicle ride quality.

Tire Changer / Mounter

GM Recommended Hunter TCA34W Auto 34 Leverless Tire Changer, including the following options:

  • Wheel Lift
  • RP6-G1000A87 Flange Plate Kit for Tire Changer

    Note:

The Auto34 is capable of exercising both of the tire beads at once to ensure proper seating, and offer the greatest amount of torque. The wheel lift and leverless design minimizes damage to both tire and wheels.
