Note:

The crankshaft position sensor system variation learn procedure is required when the following service procedures have been performed, regardless of whether DTC P0315 is set:

  • Engine replacement
  • Engine control module (ECM) replacement
  • Crankshaft damper replacement
  • Crankshaft replacement
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement
  • Any engine repairs which disturb the crankshaft to crankshaft position sensor relationship

Note:

The ECM monitors certain component signals to determine if all the conditions are met to continue with the Crankshaft Position Variation Learn procedure.

  1. Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Verify no other DTCs are set, except DTCs P0300–P0304, or P0315.
  • Select the Crankshaft Position Variation Learn Procedure with a scan tool and follow the on screen instructions:
  • Verify DTC P0315 does not set.
  • All OK.
